SJ Boys Read! is a non-profit organization based in southern New Jersey that encourages young boys to read. It is currently led by eleventh graders Naveen Shah and Connor Megill, with the help of ninth graders Shaan Doshi, Lucas Megill and Ajay Shah. SJ Boys Read! holds many events throughout the year where boys can get together and discuss selected books, play games, win prizes, and have a good time. In addition, SJ Boys Read! has hosted noted authors, illustrators, and other male role models at their events who share a passion for reading.
SJ Boys Read! started in the summer of 2008 with the help of Kyle Thumar and Cameron Pendido's favorite elementary school teachers. Since then, SJ Boys Read! has expanded, and now SJ Boys Read! offers even more resources to help boys become passionate about reading. We are currently not hosting any events due to the pandemic.
We hope everyone stays healthy and uses this time to read ... either alone or with a loved one!
We hope that you are all staying safe and healthy with your family & loved ones!
If you have some time and find yourself doing some spring cleaning, please consider going through your children's books that you might consider donating. Hold onto them for us, and once school starts again please place them in one of the six MTPS bins. We'll start collecting from the bins again soon and take the books to the BookSmiles BookBank!
Stay well and keep reading!
